I wanted to know what is the best way to go about with neuro research in John Hopkins, Mayo or Harward ? What could be the possible hic-cups ? I'm planning to give my G.R.E shortly, what scores with will these targets become achievable ???
Hello,
It is good you realize the specified universities are extremely difficult to get through. Just having great scores on the test takes will not help especially when you are plan to earn a research degree from the universities. In fact, though excellent academic grades and at least 1400+ (as per the old GRE pattern), a 100+ and 7.0+ on Test of English as a Foreign Language-TOEFL and International English Language Testing Systems-IELTS will definitely make the path easier, the ongoing paper work or paper publications and research experience in the field is going add the extra edge to your profile.
Also, for your information, John Hopkins University accepts score on GRE (Revised Pattern-GRE) and Medical college Admission Test (MCAT) as well. The university clearly specifies preference of laboratory research experience apart from the recommended course requirements.
Havard on the other hand is likely to prefer applications with subject tests as well. The university indicates that one should consider applying to more options in the university keep in mind the tough competition, limited seats for the considered program.
If you feel you can meet up to their expectations, do get back to us with more elaboration on your profile in terms of the academic background and grades, projected realistic scores and paper work so that we can guide with the preparation of necessary documents like resume`, references etc. In fact we can also assist with the selection of more appropriate universities that meet with your interest and profile.
