LOR is a letter recommending you for the position, written by someone who has knowledge of your skills and competencies. Most letters of recommendation for graduate study are written by faculty who have had direct contact with the applicant. You can ask your college professors , employers to provide you with the one.

LOR is a letter of recommendation for supporting of your admission in any university, and usually it can be taken either from any proffessor who have taught you or who know you very well and may write in favor of you. Usually three LORs are required for taking admission in any university.
